Father's Day Excursion - June 15, 2025
This Father's Day climb aboard a living piece of history with the Iron Horse Society and our proud partner Bernie’s Model Railroad Shop for a memorable steam-powered excursion to Jessup, PA. This unique journey brings together heritage, community, and celebration—honoring the fathers and father figures who shape our lives.
Enjoy local food, community festivities, and a thrilling photo runby of the train. Plus, you’ll be entered to win a model train set from Bernie’s!

Steamtown Spirits: A Bourbon Tasting to Benefit Rail Restoration - July 11, 2025
Step aboard for an exclusive evening that blends rich history, fine craftsmanship, and spirited conversation. Steamtown Spirits invites guests to enjoy a curated tasting of premium bourbons inside Steamtown’s historic backshop.
This intimate event features a hand-selected lineup of bourbons curated by a local bourbon enthusiast. Throughout the evening, Jeremy Komasz, Superintendent of Steamtown NHS, will share stories from the rails, insights into the park’s preservation priorities, and a deeper look at what goes into restoring and maintaining Steamtown’s historic rail equipment.
Whether you're a bourbon enthusiast, a history buff, or a supporter of railway preservation, this unique experience promises great conversation, exceptional spirits, and meaningful impact.

Ice Cream Express - August 17, 2025
The Ice Cream Express returns for 2025 with a fresh new twist—one unforgettable ride, one charming destination, and one big scoop of fun! This family-friendly, one-day-only rail excursion rolls out on Sunday, August 17th, offering a round-trip journey from Scranton to Gouldsboro aboard a historic train provided by Steamtown NHS.
Passengers will disembark at the beautifully preserved Gouldsboro Station to enjoy:
Complimentary ice cream from Ice Screamers of Moosic (To be confirmed)
A live Dixieland band performance
A classic car display perfect for photos and family memories
Access to the Historic Gouldsboro Station’s museum and gift shop
Perfect for families, train lovers, and first-time riders alike, the Ice Cream Express blends vintage charm, local flavor, and railroad heritage into a deliciously unique event.

Join Santa on the North Pole Limited! You'll depart Steamtown National Historic Site behind the historic steam locomotive Baldwin No. 26 on an hour-long holiday trip through the Scranton Yards and Nay Aug Park.
Get into the holiday spirit by experiencing the sounds and tastes of the holiday season starting with an “All Aboard” from the Conductor! Sing along with our roaming musicians as they play Christmas carols, and enjoy a holiday treat. Join Santa on the North Pole Limited!
